Re: What to buy with the Other Fund

I'd suggest at least one mobile (SYM) on a DD-FT hull. It's going to be a terrible design, slow and inefficient, but it'll give you some off-planet construction capacity right off the bat. It'll let you do remote repairs, build space stations, and if you give it Atmospheric Capability (should be inh...

Re: Some More Starting Questions

Personally, I'd suggest a combination with 1) and 3), with a few smaller modifications. For 1), I'd suggest dropping an A for an Mg or an Mgs/Hs combo. A single Mg gives you a LOT of reloads, and if you're going to be kiting or supporting fire, you'll find that you will want to have more than 10 tur...

Re: Artificial Plants

Hmmm... this reminds me of how the USN was working on figuring out ways to manufacture jet fuel onboard a carrier. Did a bit of digging and pulled up these two links with more detail: https://www.nrl.navy.mil/news/releases/nrl-seawater-carbon-capture-process-receives-us-patent https://patentyogi.com...

Re: quantum computers within months?

We won't have a desktop quantum computer anytime soon, nor do we need that much power for a home computer, but there may be a practical quantum computer for high-end research in the not too distant future. Whatever happened to the Israelis and the Chinese already having working quantum computers fo...

Re: deWulf Corporate Democracy Turn 137

On final approach to Bortal Ibiza Kingdom of Ibiza Chief Minister Rheinbach had come to enjoy these little trips out to Ibizan space. Not that home wasn't welcoming. Far from it, but it was becoming harder and harder to maneuver. This little war had dragged on far too long, and the worst part of it ...

Re: What makes for a great forum?

In my mind, what makes a forum great is a reasonably broad set of topics, supported by a half-decent set of posters and lurkers. A lot of forums out there, especially for smaller game companies or more niche interests in general, tend to be pretty dead. That's not because they're bad games or neglec...
