Re: Shield Generator

That's interesting procyon, because I found this in the Shield rules: "Shields are the left-most system on the Ship Control Sheet, but do not have a discrete internal system as the generators and projectors are mounted through-out the ship."

Shield Generator

OK L1.05.2 reads: Shields are not “destroyed” when they are knocked out. Accordingly, a unit loses no personnel points from “damage” to shields unless the shield generator itself is destroyed." which suggests to me that there is, or is supposed to be, an actual shield generator systems record o...

Re: Z Datagroup Sizes

No, the HS limitation makes sense as Data Group size is more going to be limited by systems on ships that a linked. Realistically a FT[4] mounting only a single Dz put into a group for better protection is not going to tie up as much bandwidth and computational resources as a proper missile destroye...

Re: (CC) magic and what CDs have to do with it...

I'd just like to point out that I didn't suggest the data be encrypted,I said (Or meant to say) that it would be in error correcting formats, given the time delays involved if data gets corrupted it takes hours to get the, hopefully, un-corrupted version.

Re: Remote construction spin-off

I have a mobile construction facility way out at the back end of nowhere. I ship it some stuff to build, which will be a two-month process. I lease the CFN FT on month 0 (before construction begins). Being a cheapskate, I don't want to pay for that FT to sit on its butt for the next two months, so:...

Re: (CC) magic and what CDs have to do with it...

I think some people might be misunderstanding how big data sets are in Starfire and the limitations under which transmitting them forces upon people.

For System Survey Data, I imagine that it is comparable in size to a full years worth of RAW readings from the Large Hadron Collider.

Re: SCC's Big List of Invasion Questions

Wanted to clarify a few points, but in part due to computer troubles it took a while to get done. In my original V4.07.7 question I made a typo, the first 7, not the second, was somehow mising, not the second, pay close attention to where the last peroid is. And while your response makes some sense,...

Re: SCC's Big List of Invasion Questions

OK, sorry for the late reply but I've been on holiday with little-to-no internet How long does it take to load Qt from Qv into ast? Some rules say it should be 8 hours while others say shorter, the cargo handling rules for a start. That is an internal transfer, from one internal system to another (Q...
