But rebellion would be pointless unless there was an actual empire to join to help out. A single world has rarely the ability to defend against attack and colony worlds almost never do.

Constructions rates losses are easy to ignore. How much building actually goes on in systems other than the HW and whatever main shipyard world is built?

Reduction of PU growth would be good as that is probably more painful than income loss.

So few systems are actually ICCs that I don't see that being a problem. And most communications would move through AP or bases so I don't see that as a possibility either.

Agreed, the rebellion of a single fringe world, while adding a bit of local color, does not pose any real threat to the empire. Especially since fringe worlds will be small in population and income and likely won't have any SY. The rebillion of a core world has more of an impact because it means greater loss of income, but it still won't have the power of the empire nor time to build up a decent defense.

Loss of construction rates will have limited impact and be more of a nuisance to track than anything else.

I would rather have reduced communication time be a random event; more likely do to hardware failure than corruption.

Reduction of PU growth makes sense as a reflection of an unhappy population. More colonists would leave, fewer new colonists would want to move there.

This just in...

The Orgamon Hegemony has announced that the opposition candidate for Emperor, Ooogle Doogah, was NOT assassinated by anyone associated with the Orgamon Hegemony!

Well, I am relieved to hear that!

Judicial Branch to Executive Branch over the phone: "Did you do it?"

Executive Branch: "No"

Judicial Branch on news that evening: "Our investigation shows that the Executive Branch did not assassinate the opposition candidate. We will have to look elsewhere."

Conversations on sex, politics and religion are actually quite boring, because the answers are so simple:

Sex: Consenting, of legal age, not married to other parties, in private--yes. All else--no.

Religion: Turn to face the direction of the Big Bang. Wave. God is that way, red shifting at the speed of light.

Politics: You have the right to vote. Use it. If you don't vote, don't gripe.

Okay, now that those three topics are out of the way, we can go back to talking about fun things like Starfire! :D
