On a related note, here are some gadgets from Star Trek that have made it into real life:

I'll be at the annual Shore Leave Star Trek/Sci Fi convention August 3-5 in Hunt Valley Md. If I can find usable counters and a map (yes I may have to resort to Star Fleet Battles) I may try to run some 3rd ed tactical battles. Of course that's assuming I find the time as I'm also helping to run multiple other events in the gaming room.

Alexei Timoshenko is the name of my protagonist in the fanfics, although I wish it could have been me.

Heh, ironically, many of the CLASSIC STARFIRE counters were shared with the original SFB counters. Specifically in fighters and small craft.

I'm planning on staying below HT8 so no fighters. Probably going to stay mid to late ISW-1 time frame.
