So I decided to read more about miniatures gaming.

I had a friend who would buy and paint a lot of miniatures,
and then he would go the hobby gaming store to fight out Napoleonic era battles,
other early European battles,
Civil War era battles on a table top with pretty felt terrain on a large table top.

I remember seeing a movie about the Battle of Britain.
The movie showed miniature aircraft squadrons on a large planning table.
Luftwaffe aircraft were detected by the British Chain Home system,
and RAF fighters were deployed to intercept.
