I just counted 64.5 (half hex is at the bottow) rows and 83 columns.

Are we talking about the big 4-part map? I thought it was a square, which means it should be the same number of hexes on each side.

Hmmm... I'm actually using the 4-part map that Marvin made. Are you using that or the original 4-part map? I haven't seen those in years, so maybe it's different from the one I used.

Cralis,

I don't own any official released map. I made my own maps by glueing together several letter sized hex map prints.

The map I am refering to is this one:

Would be good to know which map is the official one shipped with 3rd Edition Starfire, since I am trying to game the Crusade scenarios, which as you know depend on the hex numbering.

Tesuji, my counts come from the 4-part map that came with the original Task Force Games version of Imperial Starfire that I got in the mid 90’s and I believe that the map matches the BGG link that you used.

That would be the top one...

the middle one is a standard TFG hexmap - used as a tactical map in 2E, and still available from Amarillo Design Bureau as spare parts for SFB.

The bottom was the Interception hex map.

The big map in the background with the huge hex is the original “4-part map” — so called because it actually comes in 4 pieces you put together to make the larger map.

There is a newer version of it made for Galactic Starfire and later versions, and it’s a little bit bigger (I think).
