Try to stick with the forum's topic. Threads that belong to another forum will be moved to that forum.
Even Activision/Blizzard gave into that archetype with World of Warcraft now being free for the first 20 levels... unfortuntately I cannot stand MMORPG, but i can deal with shooters and RTS titles that way, now if only Blizzard would give in and let its RTS titles be that way...
I would warn against making Starfire for Facebook "like" something else. Starfire is a unique experience and any Facebook application should reflect that. I would also like to see it introduce the actual game. The more people interested in Starfire's version of 4X the better.

I agree with Glaive7's comment above and would have to vote for option #3. I have played the fantasy version of the Mafia game and that feudal empire building game on Facebook as well. I want to play a 4x space game and if whatever is called StarFire for facebook is not StarFire, but a Mafia-style game with a facelift, I won't play it for long.
